A pretty funny story from Mink Lake last summer! Grandma Joan is a sort of a surrogate Grandma to my siblings (not actually related by blood) and I and ;therefore, a Great Grandmother for my boys. She often joins us at camp which is a load of fun because she is just an awesome person to hang out with and learn from. If my memory serves me correctly, she is 82 this year and is consistently the first person in the lake! (When I was a little girl she was invariably the first person in the pool every summer, even when the water was VERY cold!) Click on the photo to enlarge and read on if you need a good laugh...I asked Grandma herself to share her story in my SMASH book, love that she was game to write it and doodle on that crazy horse on the facing page!
Just a few more pages from last summer's SMASH journal.
We celebrated my nephew's first birthday together at camp. My sister made him an awesome (and yummy) Winnie the Pooh cake - it was carrot!!!
I thought it would be fun to ask everyone to record what they were reading. Many of us are readers and usually have a good book at the ready for a rainy day. It is fun now to look back at what everyone was reading, including my nephew's fave books from last summer.
If you are at all offended by "potty talk," STOP and do not read on. This page from last summer's SMASH book tells the story about the year that my family sat around discussing different terms for washroom, fart and toilet paper and proceeded to compile a list. No joke, this happened on the front deck of the camp/cottage we rent every summer on Mink Lake just South of Algonquin Park. The list was created several years ago in a small notebook, but transferred to my SMASH book last summer. If you decide to read on and happen to be drinking a latte or a cup of tea, I advise you to put it down before continuing to read. If this doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will!
You should be able to click on the photo to make it bigger and more readable if you are so inclined.
If you happened to enjoy this humorous list, you may enjoy reading this post.
Heads up though, it has to do with knickers, aka roos, lol.
And since the above is by no means an exhaustive list, feel free to inform me of any missing terms in order to ensure as complete a list as possible.
Wishing you a gas free day! lol
p.s. I promise to return to the regularly scheduled programming next post. ;)
